Diploma in Communication Design, Focus on New Media
2002
A-rated diploma in communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt.
It was about creating an innovative web presence for the Architecture faculty of the Technical University Darmstadt.
I collaborated with two students of the faculty - they wanted to renew the dated internet presence and were in need of a designer.
Since their campus building represented their architectural tradition very well (and all the architects were quite proud of it), I chose to make it a main player in the new online presence. This would also help with campus orientation for new students.
The final diploma presentation consisted mainly of an HTML click-through prototype of the web page that featured an interactive and nicely animated 3D model of the campus as an integral part of the main navigation. It was real eye candy and quite a blast back then :)
